OK.. You all win….
I have come around and now can not hope I can retire before HD takes over the world!!!

So first off I need a camera… FCP will come BUT meanwhile  I am STUCK with Casablanca/Macro System’s Solitaire meaning I have to get HD with Firewire out.
Second I use a Sony PD 170 and love the low light capability.. So I want something with really good low light capability..

I don’t mine used..
I have a $5000 Tax in budget..
Have any thing? Suggestions?

Test Footage with my New Igus Slider

Friday, August 13th, 2010

I saw some test footage from a slider from Kessler Cranes and was smitting for a slider. After talking it over with Michael Rendulic from Avinhouse, he convinced to try out a DIY (do-it-yourself) slider for a fraction of the price.

So, I read another article at Canon 5D tips I decided to give it a try and ordered two parts from Igus .

Here’s the very first shots I took with the slider. I want to make some adjustments to how it is bolted to the tripod in order to make it a bit more stable. Also have to work on the pans accross as they are a bit jerky. However, I’m confident with some tweaking and practice, it’ll be a cool inexpenive tool to add value to my video production.

It was shot on a Canon 7D, 24-70mm 2.8L lens with a ND filter on for those that are curious.
