BCPVA_image_Mar 2017

Hello BCPVA members and guests,

Please join us for an exciting evening on Tuesday, March 28, 2017. As a reminder – our new meeting date is the 4th Tuesday of each month!

We’ll be at the Community Living Society, located on the 7th floor of 713 Columbia Street in New Westminster (Columbia & Begbie, beside Waves coffee shop).

Please remember, networking will begin at 6:30, and the meeting will formally begin at 7:00 and run until 9:00 with a 15 minute break.

1)   Audio: In Post and On Location, Presentation and Q&A

Sharpe Sound’s head re-recording mixer and sound supervisor Kelly Cole will present an overview of the audio post production process and discuss location audio. Bring your sound recording and editing questions!

A bit about Kelly: He was raised in Ucluelet BC and moved to Vancouver in 1991 to study audio engineering/recording at Columbia Academy. Following an internship with Hal Beckett at Beckett Productions, Kelly worked for Hal as an editor/recordist until he accepted a position at Sharpe Sound Studios in 1993. Since then, he has worked on all aspects of the audio post process. Starting with editorial, recording and mastering, Kelly moved into mixing and supervising for various projects at the studio. His credits cross multiple mediums from TV series (Intruders, Continuum, Stargate, Dead Zone, Cold Squad) to feature films (The Confirmation, A Single Shot, Kahlil Gibran’s The Prophet).

2)    Bring your Rig!

Show us your set-ups – Movi, Steadicam, cool shoulder mount, crane or jib. Bring your toys to the meeting, and let’s play!

Meeting will end with a 15 minute open discussion.
