Happy Fix-It-In-Post Halloween Video Contest

Every videographer or editor has experienced the nightmare of having to produce a great video from frighteningly poor video footage. Raw video can have problems with lighting, focus, sound, composition, shakiness and they’re counting on you to “Fix-It-In-Post”.

BCPVA and Fusion Cine are terrified to give you a chance to show off your magic and compete for cool prizes with our Halloween-themed video contest. At BCPVA’s Member Meeting on October 23, we’ll be unveiling the nasty, problem-infested raw video footage that you’ll get a headache working with! Then at our November 27 meeting, we’ll be screening all creative contest entries and handing out prizes to the best video fixer-uppers. The winners’s videos will be featured at

Fusion Cine is providing the first prize for the editing competition, Roland Edirol R-09HR Field Recorder valued at $400 MSRP. Fusion Cine provides products, solutions, and technical resources that transform the way creative professionals gather, manage and communicate their vision. Other exciting prizes to be announced later.

This contest is open to everyone, including members and non-members of BCPVA. Attend our October 23 meeting to find out more and to receive access to the raw footage.

Contest Rules
All videos must be submitted in-person at BCPVA Members Meeting November 27, 2013 on memory stick or disc. Contest entrants must use some of the horrible footage provided. No additional moving video footage can be added to the video entry. Video can include narration, music, titles, graphics, still images and effects. Video must include the BCPVA logo on screen for at least 5 seconds. Finished video must be minimum 1280 X 720 HD. Weighted judging to be based on 50% on technical merit, 25% storyline and 25% humour or horror. Video must not contain nudity or coarse language. Copyrighted materials must not be included unless a license is secured.
