Hello BCPVA members and guests,
NAB 2019 has just completed and we’re here at our new meeting venue with all the Hot News Tuesday, April 30th, 2019.
Did I say NEW MEETING VENUE? Yes, say hello to our beautiful new venue with sumptuous & free parking at, the Justice Institute of British Columbia at 715 McBride Boulevard in New Westminster – classroom NWCL230.
Networking will begin at 6:30, and the meeting will formally begin at 7:00 and run until 9:00 with a 15 minute break.
1) Report on NAB 2019 and the 9th Annual VIA Award Winners
Shawn Lam, Former BCPVA President, and Michael Rendulic, BCPVA Executive member, will be reporting back from the NAB Show in Las Vegas to tell us about the awesome new gear that’s out and to announce their selections for the 9th annual BCPVA VIA awards. These awards are presented to companies at NAB who have released new products that we see as game-changers for corporate and event video producers. In order for products to be eligible, a pre-production or production model must be demonstrated at NAB.
2) Associate Member Presentation – Delirium Media
Derek Kovacevic was the top graduate in his class at the Specs Howard School of Media Arts (Southfield, MI) in 2004. He earned internships with Palace Sports & Entertainment and Fox Sports Net Detroit. Derek founded Delirium Media in 2005 in his hometown of Windsor, Ontario as a production company focused on producing wedding videos. In 2009, Derek began a large six month project for Nature Fresh Farms, a large greenhouse in Southwestern Ontario. The project was very well received, and since this advance into corporate video, Derek has produced videos for FCA Canada (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles), Best Buy Canada, Fedex Canada, and Vistaprint. Since re-locating to Vancouver in 2018 Derek has worked as a Set Dresser on Hallmark movies, and is actively seeking local clients for video production work. Website: www.DeliriumMedia.com
Meeting will end with a 15 minute open discussion.
