BCPVA Meeting – Feb 25th 2020 – Choosing Insurance & Multicam Production with OBS

This month we are covering two topics. One is so fundamental to keeping your business and lively hood safe it should never be under planned, and that is of course, insurance. Our other presentation is on the topic of multicam production with the pretty cool Open Broadcast Software, and how it could help you expand your production repertoire. One business essential and one business builder, don’t miss it!

Presented by Shawn Lam

Are you properly insured?  Chances are there are some really big gaps in your insurance and that isn’t a good thing.  Shawn Lam is going to discuss his recent journey to fill an insurance gap that opened in his coverage and how what he learned can help you get the most coverage for your insurance dollars.  Topics will include the different types of insurance coverages, sample policies that might be a fit for your business, and the policies that Shawn rejected and the ones he ultimately purchased.

Presented by Dorin Sovarosi

Dorin is a Freelance Videographer with over 10 years of experience filming and editing video for corporate clients, non-profit organizations, small businesses and individuals. Last year Dorin has added live-production and live-streaming as services he provides, capable of managing a team of up to 3 camera operators, running up to 6 camera angles.

Dorin will present his current encoding and streaming software of choice, OBS (Open Broadcast Software), which he has been using for over 6 years. Topics that will be discussed and demonstrated are: video encoding, live-streaming, screen capture, screen projection, local recording to a laptop, multiple scene management, color keying, audio filters, and many more features, all provided by OBS.

Meeting will end with a 15 minute open discussion.
